At Musical StoryBox we understand the importance of instilling a lifelong love of reading in children. We know that reading stories from an early age has untold benefit, from supporting language development, enriching vocabulary and sparking creativity and imagination. We have developed a unique approach that combines high quality live music, giving children the opportunity to sing and play instruments, along with the narrative of a story to give meaning to both and bring the story to life.
Musical StoryBox is an excellent way to promote reading, stories, music, and the arts across your school or nursery. Our sessions not only instill a love of reading but also provide an engaging start or end to a new topic. They are also perfect for special events like Book Week or Arts Week, and can be tailored to complement your school's unique requirements.
Live Music & Sensory Play
Our school and nursery sessions go beyond traditional storytelling. We incorporate a mix of quality recorded music, often classical, along with live performances using instruments such as the piano, cello, and ukulele. This carefully chosen music enhances the storytelling process and creates a multi-sensory experience. Children are encouraged to join in with their voices and use a range of untuned instruments, adding to the interactive nature of our sessions.
Play-Based Props and Resources
To truly immerse children in the story, we provide an array of play-based props and resources. These props act as visual aids, bringing the story to life and igniting the imagination of children. This hands-on approach ensures an engaging and memorable experience for all participants.
